Naomi and I happen to be reading the same book - Burning Alive by Shannon K. Butcher. I won't speak for her, but I'm finding it interesting. We both like the author's mix of emotion and suspense. I love how she writes action because I'm not a huge fan of a lot of action in my books because I'm a poor visual reader. I haven't read enough to understand the mythology of the characters or the world of the "good guys" and the demons, but I like it. I'm really getting back into reading after reading very few books the last couple of months. I thought Nora Roberts's Visions in White was adorable. I'm not sure what will be next on my plate, but I have a lot to do around the apartment in the next few days so I'm not sure how much reading I'll do. We're having company on Wednesday for the boy's birthday and Little Miss has been eating things lately so it's time to up the level of security in the place. Plus, with both of our birthdays in the next week or two, we'll be busy and I won't want to clean in my birthday month. I'm lazy like that.

Yup, I'm reading Burning Alive, and while I'm a bigger fan of action and suspense than you are, April, I have found this book to be really good so far. A great balance of emotion, characterization and action. I do want more of the mythology and world building, but I'm only a fw chapters in. That said, I'm glad Shannon K. Butcher is pacing the book as well as she is. There's a tendency to info dump during the beginning of a book like this and she's not doing that.

Now I'm reading a thriller by Anne Stuart but it's not grabbing me. I think the premise is good and it's likely me and not the book, which is titled SILVER FALLS. After I finish that I have to decide between LOVER AVENGED by JR Ward and NEW MOON by Stephanie Meyer.
