"The Heart's Haven - Favorites"
 |
I'm having a crappy day. Turned down for two more jobs that I would have loved and the weather sucks and I'm just not in my happy place. So to find my happy place, I'm going to post more about The Heart's Haven. I really did enjoy this book. And when I used to help run book discussions on another board, we would have all these posts about favorites. I'm going to compress it into one thread here. Favorite Character - I really enjoyed Hallie as a main character, but it was Liv who totally stole my heart. Favorite Scene - The skunk scene. It was just too funny and precious and so totally something one of my relatives would do. Favorite Quote - "You can sleep in the chair." p227 I'm sure there are more favorites so please add on! ~naomi www.chasinginspiration.blogspot.com |

I used to know this book very well, but it's been awhile since I've read it. I mean, I have the memory of a gnat. The only reason I sort of know Dreaming is because I've read it every year since like college. Still, it's been awhile since I reread that one, too. I know I felt this book is overlooked a lot, and I thought it was a lot of fun with a great location. I (as always) loved the kids and animals and the playfulness and friendship of the characters. I mean, they were at odds, but underneath everything, they did care for each other. I do wish I saw more of the aunt (it was an aunt, right?). |
