"Who Inspirers You?"

I was thinking today about who and what inspires me. It's becoming harder and harder to remain inspired without a job, but it's not impossible. So, I looked at the shelves in my home office to get a picture of what I find (or used to find) inspiring and I came up with a short list:

Jill Barnett - writing amazing books, finding the courage to move forward after both the loss of a loved one and changes to the writing process and for being so open with fans.

Debbie Macomber - for just everything. If she can do it, I can do at least some of it.

April - yes, I admire you! You are doing a wonderful job raising Little Miss and I admire your ability to put things in perspective. It's a gift!

My husband - I admire him for putting up with me,

Dave Ramsey - Financial peace guru who I admire for his integrity and his vision

Cali Ressler and Jody Thompson - Authors of Why Work Sucks and How to Fix It. I admire them for starting a revolution in the 9-5 world and for getting the word out that work shouldn't be measured by the time you spend in the office but by the work you produce.

So, these are just a few people who currently inspire me. Who inspires you?

I'm not focused enough to have someone inspire me. I usually find motivation here and there. What or who may inspire me one moment may not the next.

I have the same problem naming someone as a hero. I mean, I try not to criticize or judge and really believe anyone who tries to do good (even if that path is sometimes rocky) is worthy of admiration.

I know. Lame answer. I guess I'm a cynic, too. For people in the spotlight (no matter how dim), I always figure part of it is worthy of admiration and part of it is a great publicist/press secretary. With people, you only see what they want you to see.

I find the people from whom I do find strength all deal with challenges well and just deals with whatever life hands them. It's the ability to move through the impossible smiling the entire time.

I was just talking about this with a friend and my sister. I love reality TV and the Biggest Loser just had it's finale. The show is so very inspiring.

There was one man who could barely walk on the treadmill at 380 pounds. He lost all the weight and reversed his health problems, heart dissease, diabetes, etc. To have watched him in the beginning and see him in the end was amazing.

I find people with big hearts, people who are selfless and try to help others inspiring. I believe good people inspire us to be better than we are and I think that has always been part of my book themes--the person who believes you can be best inspiring a character who perhaps believes he is not...to be the best by the end.

JB
